


STEM to the Skies Vision
In partnership with business and community, Susquehanna STEM to the Skies is committed to a culture of rigorous academic and workforce experiences emphasizing industry skills in aerospace, aviation, and engineering preparing and inspiring all students for both college and technical careers.

To achieve this vision

Become the premier STEM program in central Pennsylvania.

Enlist four high schools in the region to adopt the AOPA STEM curriculum.

Partner with SUN Tech and Penn College of Technology to promote STEM education for the aviation trades.

Sponsor annual high school aviation STEM camps.

Create an aviation STEM club at the high school.

Hold an annual aviation career day at Penn Valley Airport.

Hold field trips to ATC towers and approach control facilities.

The larger, grander vision

Assist Susquehanna University to establish an aviation degree curriculum (using Liberty University and Western Michigan University as examples)

Create an Aerospace Center of Excellence in collaboration with Susquehanna University and Selinsgrove Senior High School to enable students to become eligible for either the FAA drone pilot exam or the private pilot written exam.

Hold an annual STEM/Artificial Intelligence competition with a scholarship prize.

Hold an annual air show with an admission fee to fund a trade school or aviation degree scholarship.
